Ported
& Powder Coated Throttle Body for 98-02 F-Body NEW

The
Bauer Racing Engines ported and powder coated throttle
body is machine ported and finished by hand. The throttle
body comes from the factory with a lip that is used
to reduce intake noise. This lip is the major restriction,
we machine out the lip which is 70mm to match the size
of the throttle plate which is 75mm.The opening in the
upper left hand portion of the throttle body is filled
with an industrial grade epoxy. The same epoxy is used
in intake manifold porting and head porting. Filling
this area in helps improve the flow of the throttle
body. To achieve maximum throttle opening we have an
adjustable throttle stop. This modification allows you
to dial in your maximum throttle position on an Autotap
and also prevents SES lights. The throttle shaft is
sectioned and modified to improve flow. We have found
that playing with the shaft does produce extra flow
if done the right way. We have also found some extra
flow in the throttle body itself and this is part of
our new porting. The outside of the throttle body has
the casting flash removed. It is then smoothed out and
powder coated in the color of your choice. Then the
boltholes are spot faced to provide better seating for
the attaching bolts while also protecting the powder
coated finish. The throttle body is then re-assembled
with care. We replace the retainer on the end of the
throttle shaft with a new stainless steel one. Then
the throttle plate screws are put in place with Loc-tite.

Ported
& Powder Coated Throttle Body for C5 Corvette NEW

The
Bauer Racing Engines ported and powder coated throttle
body for the C5 Corvette is machine ported and finished
by hand. The throttle body like the f-body throttle
body has a lip that is used to reduce intake noise
from the factory. This lip is bored out so the housing
matches the 75mm diameter of the throttle plate. The
edge left is then blended into a large smooth radius
to increase airflow. We then fill in the PCV hole
with epoxy, leaving just enough room for it to still
operate while allowing the airflow to increase into
the engine. This epoxy is an industrial grade epoxy
that is used in intake manifolds and head porting
to fill in areas to direct airflow to the most beneficial
areas.
The throttle shaft is sectioned; we have found flow
in this and some other porting to produce a higher
flowing throttle body. For the powder coated versions
we do extensive sanding and buffing work on the outer
part of the housing to give you the professional finish
you are looking for on your Corvette. The last step
is to spot face the boltholes. This protects your
powder coated finish and provides a flat surface for
the bolts to achieve a maximum clamping force on the
intake manifold. The throttle body is then re-assembled
with care, re-lubing the gear set for the electric
motor and placing Loc-Tite on the screws during reassembly.
We replace the retainer on the end of the throttle
shaft with a new stainless steel one. Then the throttle
plate screws are put in place with Loc-Tite. Shipping
back to you via UPS ground is included in the price.
C5 units need to do an idle relearn procedure. I have
also had customers change some of the IAC settings
to help the cold idle also. Please check with us about
this and the compatibility with Granatelli aftermarket
MAF sensors.

can powder coat MAF Ends, Valve Covers, and other engine
components such as brackets. MAF Ends and Valve Covers
(set) are considered one part.

Powder
Coated Brakes |

We
offer powder coating of brake calipers, brackets and
rotors.
The
calipers are disassembled if not other wise shipped
that way. The calipers and mounting brackets are smoothed
out to remove the casting marks, this is done to give
a show car like finish. Then the powder coat color of
your choice is applied. Everything is test fitted to
make sure that it will work properly. We suggest that
you have a GM rebuild kit for the front calipers for
final assembly. The parts are shipped back to you disassembled.
We send them back disassembled with simple instructions
on how to put them back together. This is done for liability
reasons.
To
powder coat the rotors they must be new or have zero
rust on them. The rotor is powder coated everywhere
except the face where the pad touches the rotor and
the mounting surfaces. This is a good way to keep you
brake rotors in a like new condition.
